I am a fan of maxi dresses, I really am. I just can't wear them. I have tried on countless maxi dresses and purchased none. It's difficult to find one that flatters a petite 5'2 fashionista with short legs. Recently, I have seen several styles of dresses that feature a short hem in the front and tapers to a longer hem in the back. This style seems more flattering for
short vertically challenged women. Thus, I present my solution:
Business in the Front, Party in the Back!
I actually sported this style dress for my Senior Prom back in 2005. It was my favorite formal dress, and I was sad that I only got to wear it on one occasion.
No jokes allowed....I was only 17 :)

You were so ahead of your time! I just got a dress like that from Target. Duh. Haha.
Target has got a lotttt of cute dresses in that style right now! I haven't gotten any yet- but they are def cute!
I totally rocked a style like that to my junior homecoming!! HAHA- we were sooo fashionable ;)
So cute! I'm 5'2 as well and had the hardest time finding a maxi dress that looked right on me, after weeks of searching I found a really cute leopard print one that I l.o.v.e don't worry it's not tacky leopard print.. I was really shocked that it fit me!
These dresses are everywhere! I love all of the ones you posted! Two thumbs up for this look
I've seen a lot of cute longer dresses at Target - good prices too!
i have #2. love it! its much cooler than a maxi dress, which is necessary in this georgia heat!
I just wore a dress like this to a wedding yesterday, it was a friend's but I was in love with the cut! I definitely want to get some of my own now! That pic of you is so cute too!
