Where Does Time Go?

Happy Monday friends.  I just realized that I didn't post at all last week...unintentionally.  Where does time go?  The good news about me not posting is that I have been a busy little bee at work.  My current position is transitioning- I am shedding a few of my current responsibilities and adding more valuable projects under the direction of Finance and the CFO!  I couldn't be more excited to embark on this new journey that will surely look great on my resume.

I have also been spending some quality time with the hubby.  Here are just a few of the mini dates we have been on in the past two weeks:

Riverdogs Game
My company sponsors a sky box at the Riverdogs Stadium.  Each division has the opportunity to take advantage of these amazing seats, the food, and game once a year.  Two Saturdays ago, we had our chance and the experience was nothing less than fantastic.  The hot dogs and hamburgers were on point, the breeze was perfect, and it was all around a great night for baseball!

Car Shopping
It's official...I have car fever and I am in love with the New Ford Explorers.  I test drove one a few weeks ago, and haven't been able to stop thinking about it since.  Bradley and I both agree that this will be a great car for when we start having kids.  I'm sure in a few weeks, there will be a post on my new car...hopefully!

Movies
We finally took the time to go see the box office hit, Ted.  This movie was hilarious- crass, but hilarious! Mark Wahlberg was the perfect actor to play alongside Seth MacFarlane as a teddy bear.  Definitely an adult must see!

What have you guys been up to?  I'm headed over to check out your new posts as well!

Confessional Friday

Another week has come and gone my friends.  Link up with Leslie at a Blonde Ambition to confess!

1.  I confess that I went to see Magic Mike with a few girlfriends two Saturdays ago and although the story line was pretty bad, the scenery more than made up for it.  I literally caught myself with my jaw on the floor several times.  Who knew Channing Tatum could dance like that?!

2.  I confess that I just realized it was Friday the 13th.  The older I get, the less superstitious I am I guess.  Doesn't bother me one bit!

3.  I confess that I ordered this chair from Target on Tuesday and it has already arrived at my door step.  Not gonna lie, I am pretty excited for this beauty to be in my living room!

4.  I confess that even though I only live half an hour from the beach, I have yet to go this summer.  I know, I know, what is wrong with me?  I'm thinking this scenario may have to change THIS weekend!

5.  I confess that I am uber excited about date night with my hubby tonight. It is long overdue for a nice dinner out with just the two of us.

P.S.  My blog sale is still going on.  Click here to check it out.  Spread the word!

Weekend Shenanagins

Happy Monday, friends!  This was the second weekend in a row that we didn't have to go out of town, and I must say, a girl could get use to this.  It's nice not to have to hit the road out of town after an eight hour work day on Friday, just to dread the return on Sunday.

Friday night we met up with our friends, Dean and Jess, at a local barbeque shack for a yummy feast of pulled pork, hash, chicken, and all the fixings!  After we were induced into a food coma, we decided to catch a movie.  The four of us agreed on That's My Boy that actually premiered on Friday.  Adam Sandler was hysterically funny and I laughed the entire time....until the end that is.  If you  haven't seen this movie, I must warn you that the end takes a turn that no one expects and it's sickening.  For those of you who have seen you, you know what I'm talking about.  Not sure I will be seeing this one for a second time.

Saturday we met a few of my family members downtown for a nice stroll around the city before having dinner at Poogan's  Porch.  The weather was absolutely gorgeous for site seeing downtown and we enjoyed every minute of it!  Friends, if you have never  been to Poogan's Porch you are missing out!  It is a quaint Charlestonian home made restaurant that is tucked away on Queen Street.  Saturday was my first experience, and it is one of the best meals I have had in Charleston.  The atmosphere was perfect and the food was exceptional.  We will definitely be going back...and soon.

That evening we ventured back home to watch the South Carolina Gamecocks defeat the No. 1 team in the country to advance in the College World Series.  We dominated the Florida Gators 7-2.  GO GAMECOCKS!

Sunday was a nice relaxing day spent watching How I Met Your Mother re-runs and a few movies.

How did you spend your weekend?

The Five Year Engagement

If you have not seen this movie, do yourself a favor and go immediately!
I give it five thumbs up.  I haven't laughed that hard in a long time.
And my husband feels the same.  He loved it as well!

I must admit, it is pretty vulgar and has a lot of harsh language.
If you can look past all of that, this movie is brilliantly hilarious.

Now go see it, and a let me know what you think!

Weekend Catch-Up

Whew!  Happy Monday!  What a fun and exciting weekend we had.  Going to see a movie premiere, friends in town, and new recipes consumed all of our time, but no complaints here.
Let's get started with a full recap, shall we?!

On Friday, our friends Kevin and Caroline headed into town for the weekend.  When I got off work, they met me in the parking lot so I could take Caroline with me to the movie premiere while the guys headed to do their own thing.  We stopped off to grab a bite to eat at a local Mexican restaurant before heading to the theater, and picked up Caroline's younger sister along the way.
{ATTENTION: SPOILER ALERT...skip down if you haven't seen the movie}
I enjoyed the movie.  I really did, but I left needing more.  I didn't cry as much as I thought I would, and I definitely think some scenes could have been expounded upon.  I wanted Rachel's character's mind to come flooding back with all the memories that she couldn't remember from the injury.  I wanted Channing to get more angry and frustrated.  I also wanted to see them get married again at the end.  I did, however, enjoy seeing Channing Tatum's cute bare butt!  What are your thoughts on the movie?

Most of Saturday morning was spent relaxing and enjoying our company.  I fixed a hashbrown casserole for breakfast and we watched Crazy, Stupid Love {which I love by the way!}.  For lunch, we introduced Kevin and Caroline to one of our local favorites, Sesame Burgers and Beer.
I think they enjoyed it more than we did our first time!

Earlier in the week, Bradley and I decided to invite our friends Dean and Jess over to join us for dinner Saturday evening.  I prepped this amazing recipe {found on Pinterest} before we headed to lunch.
{Crockpot BBQ Beer Chicken}
Yummy is not even close to the best description I could give this recipe.  It was amazing!  The chicken fell apart, had rich flavor, and was super easy to make for a small gathering.  I paired it with wheat hamburger buns, potato salad, and baked beans.  It was a hit to say the least.  Nothing better than sitting around the dinner table with great friends and an awesome meal!

Sunday morning before Kevin and Caroline headed back home, I tried my hand at another new Pinterest inspired recipe.
{Sticky Bun Breakfast Ring}
This recipe also did not disappoint.  The biscuits were moist and full of flavor, even though they came out of a can.  The syrup, brown sugar and cinnamon were just enough to sweeten the dough!

I'm not going to lie.  After Kevin and Caroline hit the road, I climbed back into my warm bed and spent most of Sunday afternoon curled up watching movies.  It was the perfect ending to a great weekend!

How was your weekend?  Anything fun and exciting?
