Weekend of Firsts

Happy Monday!  I hope your weekend was as fulfilling as mine.  They always fly by too fast, but it is nice to have a few days to rest, relax, and catch up on some sleep.  Hubby and I spent some quality time with a special couple who just recently got engaged.

Friday
Dean and Jess joined Bradley and I for a Mexican dinner on Friday night before attending a South Carolina Stingrays hockey game.  As you may recall, this was my very first hockey game.  Although there were no fights, we still had a blast.  It was actually "Bring Your Dog" night at the arena.  After the first period, they had a race on the ice between about 15 daschund puppies.  It was so cute!

Saturday
Bradley and I got a smoker for Christmas from his parents and decided to put it to good use this for the first time weekend.  Bradley had found a nice boston butt on sale this past week and snatched it up.  We invited Dean and Jess over for dinner and a movie.  After an hour of actually putting together the smoker, we basted the "butt" with a homemade dry rub and put it on for about 4 hours.  It turned out delicious!  We will definitely be doing this again soon.
