Guest Post: {Best Hair Tips for the New Year, New You}

Today is my very first guest post, and I couldn't be more excited.  I have asked my {little} sister, a South Carolina State Board certified cosmetologist, to share a few hair tips for the new year!  Ashley just completed a very successful first year as a cosmetologist, working in a salon in our hometown.

Hello, the name's Ashley!  I am very excited to write the very first guest post on my sister's blog.  When she asked earlier in the week if I wanted to be featured, I knew just what I wanted to say.  My new marketing campaign for 2012 is "New Year, New You".  Cliche? Maybe, but the first of the year really is the best time to go for that new style that you have been scared to try, or get in the habit of good hair practices.  Check out these tips for your hair that will make you look beautiful, and your hair feel great!

When blow drying your hair, flip your hair upside down.
This will create tons of natural volume.

When curling your hair all over with a curling iron,
start from the bottom and work your way up.
Split your hair into small sections for best results.

Always use a heat protectant spray when using heat on your hair.
You will thank yourself in the future when your hair isn't brittle or breaking.

If your hair always feels dry and has no shine, try an oil treatment.
They can really work miracles on dull hair.

If you have thick hair and feel like it won't style, have it thinned.
I actually have really thick, coarse hair.  When I was thirteen I started having my hair thinned,
and it has made all the difference in the world for styling and control.

Highlights are a good look for the spring.
Lighten your hair up for warmer weather.

Big Sexy is the best hairspray ever.
PERIOD.

If you have any questions about my tips or your hair in general, please feel free to e-mail me!

Now get out there and go for that daring look that you have been wanting to try.
Remember- New Year, New YOU!
