My Valentine

Happy Valentine's Day!  In honor of this lovely day, I thought I would share our love story for all of the other hopeless romantics out there like me!  I am a sucker for a good love story and a happy ending :)  Thanks Christin and April for the questionnaire idea!

1.  How long have you & your significant other been together?
We just celebrated our 6th dating anniversary in January!

2.  How did you meet?
Well if truth be told, we have always know of each other since we were kids.  We grew up in the same town, but he is five years older so we never hung out with the same crowd.  We were never at the same school either, until college.  He was a fifth year senior and I was a timid freshman.  The night I was given a bid to ZTA, the sorority went out to celebrate.  Lo and behold, he was on the deck with all of his friends at the infamous Jeff's Bar and Grill, a favorite local hang out.  I recognized him and told a few of my new friends I thought I knew who that was.  They didn't believe me, so I decided to prove it!  I waltzed right up to him and said, "I know who you are, but I bet you don't know who I am?". His face became blank and he was a little scared there for a moment.  He had no clue!  I gave him a few hints, and then finally told him my name.  He was shocked to say the least.  He remembered me as a young eight year old in middle school back in our hometown.  I had grown up a good bit since then ;)

3.  If married, how long have you been married?
A month and five days shy of our first year of marriage.

4.  If you are married, where did you get married?  Big or small wedding?
We were married in our hometown, McCormick, at the church I grew up in.  It is a very small town, but my family has been there for over sixty years.  If you can imagine the whole town at a wedding, that's what ours looked liked!  Okay, maybe I am exaggerating a little, but there were close to 400 people in attendance for our big day.

5.  Do you  have any nicknames that you call one another?
Just the usual "babe" or "baby".  Nothing too out of the box.

6.  Name 3 things that you love most about your honey.
-My husband is the most unselfish person on this planet.  He would literally do anything for anyone, including giving the shirt off his back.  He volunteers about thirty hours a week to the local high school baseball team, and doesn't expect any pay or reimbursement.  He truly loves the game and wants to make an impact, even if he is only able to help one kid a season.  He is a great role model for the kids.
-Bradley is very hard-working and would do anything to provide for me and our future family.  As a contractor, his line of work can be very unstable at times, but he takes initiative to be sure that we will not be without anything we need or want.  He is a true "man" of the house.
-He has a keen since of humor.  I can never stay mad at him, because he is always making me laugh.

7.  Tell us how he proposed.
Check out our story here.

8.  Is he a flowers & teddy bear kind of guy for v-day or strawberries, champagne, & rose petals?
Is neither an option?  My hubby is a very practical gift giver.  For example, this morning I was greeted with a card, a box of chocolates, and a bag of kit kats.  Man knows the way to my heart!

9.  Are you a sunset dinner on the beach kind of girl, or pop in a movie & relax on the couch?
Movie and couch all the way!  This is one of our favorite hobbies.

10.  Tell us one thing you'd like to do with your significant other one day, if you could do anything or go anywhere?
I would love to go to Paris.  This would be an absolute romantic dream come true!

11.  Tell us what you plan on doing this Valentine's Day.
Well, the hubby and I are going to grab lunch together because he is leaving to go work out of town for the next week.  As sad as it is, we both know he is doing the right thing for us.

12.  Are you asking for anything this Valentine's Day?
I did not, actually, and I am very happy with what I received this morning!

13.  Give us one piece of advice for keeping a relationship strong and full of love.
Never, ever go to bed angry.  Always say I'm sorry and I love you before you drift off to sleep!

14.  Show us a picture of what love means to you.

Happy Valentine's Day!
